Individual Psychotherapy

(50 minutes)

Virtual therapy is available for individuals located in Connecticut and Washington D.C. Through a secure and confidential platform, you can receive consistent care in the comfort of your own home. Together we will identify patterns, set meaningful goals, and develop strategies to help you thrive.

Walk and Talk Therapy

(50 minutes)

Walk and talk therapy combines the benefits of traditional talk therapy with the therapeutic effects of movement and nature. This approach often makes it easier to open up, encouraging a deeper connection and fostering emotional well-being.

We will walk in a park or on a trail in the West Hartford area such as Elizabeth Park or one of the reservoirs.

Our initial session will be conducted virtually to discuss if walk and talk is a good fit for you.

Areas of Focus

Anxiety

Are you feeling nervous or restless? Are you having trouble concentrating or sleeping, or are you feeling fearful, panicking?

Anxiety can be experienced as intense worry and dread and be accompanied by muscle tension, nausea, and pain. Therapy can equip you with the tools, strategies, insights, and support necessary to manage and alleviate your anxiety. Therapy can uncover and address the underlying causes of your anxiety. I am here to help you find relief and regain control, so you can get back to living your life.

Depression

Are you finding it difficult to enjoy activities you once loved? Do you frequently feel worthless, hopeless or down?

Depression can deeply affect every aspect of a person’s life leading to emotional, physical, and social challenges. Therapy can help you manage depression by providing a safe, supportive space to identify negative thoughts and explore strategies to challenge and reframe these beliefs. Our sessions can also help you develop coping skills and reduce feelings of isolation.

Chronic Pain

Do you feel stuck in pain, helpless or unsure how to manage your pain? Have you gone to countless medical providers and finding no relief?

Chronic pain can feel all consuming and prevent you from doing the activities that you love. Therapy can assist you in managing chronic pain and emotional stress, releasing tension stored in the body from past negative experiences and empower you to recognize, cultivate, and appreciate your strengths. My approach can help you build awareness of how chronic stress, depression, and trauma shape your body’s physiology and guide you toward resilience and nervous system regulation to ease symptoms.

*I have expertise in working with a range of chronic pain conditions including back and neck pain, migraines/tension headaches, fibromyalgia, pelvic pain, irritable bowel syndrome, interstitial cystitis, and Long COVID.

Chronic Illness

Do you feel that your chronic illness dictates your day-to-day life? Do you feel burned out by managing your symptoms, constant doctor appointments or lack of a diagnosis?

The persistent nature of chronic illness symptoms can lead to fatigue, feelings of loneliness, strained relationships and stigma. Therapy can help you develop coping strategies to navigate stress, grief, frustration and better manage the ups and down of chronic illness. Our sessions will help you reconnect with a positive sense of self while helping you focus on what you can do rather than what you can’t.

Relationship and family Issues

Are you trying to improve how you express your feelings, needs and/or concerns? Are you trying to navigate family roles or what your boundaries are with a partner or family member?

Navigating relationships can be difficult, especially when communication, trust issues, or emotional disconnection arise. Therapy provides a safe, supportive environment to work through these concerns, improve how you communicate, and address conflicts in a healthier way. In our sessions you will gain the skills to set boundaries and strengthen the emotional connection you need to thrive in your relationships.

Life Transitions

Are you navigating a major change in your life that’s bringing up feelings of anxiety, overwhelm, or doubt?

Facing significant life changes can feel like a whirlwind—whether it’s the end of a relationship, a career shift, moving to a new place, starting a family, or stepping into retirement. Therapy can help you reflect on your values, reassess your goals, and create a clearer sense of purpose. My approach will help you develop practical problem-solving skills, healthier coping strategies, and a greater sense of control during times of change.

Trauma and PTSD

Are past wounds affecting your ability to move forward and thrive? Do you feel “on edge” or guarded anticipating certain situations?

Experiencing trauma can lead to intrusive thoughts, flashbacks, feelings of guilt or self-blame and greatly disrupt personal relationships. Therapy can provide a safe outlet to feel heard, validated, and supported as you create a sense of safety and security with yourself and the world around you.

Self-Esteem Issues

Do you feel inadequate or like you’re not good enough? Do you find yourself worrying about other people’s judgments or approval?

Therapy can help you explore the root causes of your self-esteem issues, allowing you to better understand the underlying beliefs and thought patterns that contribute to feelings of low self-worth. I work with clients to recognize the unrealistic nature of perfectionism and adopt a more flexible, realistic approach to seeing yourself.
