What can I expect from sessions?
Each session is tailored to a client’s goals, needs and preferences. Some clients like their sessions to be very goal oriented and others prefer a more open-ended approach. I let my clients guide our conversations while providing a collaborative, affirmative and safe space.
How long does therapy typically last?
It depends! This varies on each client’s goals, needs and progress. Some clients find short-term therapy (a few months) helpful for addressing specific concerns, while others benefit from longer-term support for deeper personal growth and healing. I like to regularly check in with each client about their progress to ensure therapy continues to meet their needs and adjust as necessary. I welcome feedback throughout the therapeutic process.
How long is a session and how often will I see you?
Sessions typically last 50 minutes and are usually scheduled weekly, especially at the start of our work together. By the time most people begin therapy, they have been struggling with challenging situations for some time. Regular weekly sessions provide structure, accountability, and motivation to help you work toward your goals effectively. As therapy progresses, we can reassess whether weekly sessions remain beneficial. Many people find that as they heal and grow, they can space out sessions to fit their needs.
Why should I consider walk and talk therapy?
Walk and talk therapy combines the benefits of traditional talk therapy with the therapeutic effects of movement and nature. Engaging in conversation while walking can help reduce anxiety, increase relaxation, and promote a sense of ease, making it easier to open up and process emotions. The rhythmic motion of walking can also enhance cognitive function, creativity, and problem-solving, allowing for deeper self-reflection and insight. Whether you’re looking to reduce stress, work through personal challenges, or simply try a different approach to therapy, walk and talk sessions offer a dynamic and refreshing alternative.
Do you take insurance?
I accept Aetna and United.
I also take client who are out of network/private pay. I do not take insurance for walk and talk sessions. I provide clients with a itemized “superbill” for insurance claims.
What are your fees?
My fee per 50 minute session (virtual or walk and talk) is $160. I also accept United and Aetna.
