About Me

I am a LCSW, licensed in Connecticut and Washington D.C. I provide counseling to adults online/virtually and through in-person, “walk and talk” therapy. I offer these options for the convenience of my clients and because I greatly enjoy hiking and encourage my clients to be active and connect with nature.

I recently relocated to West Hartford from Washington, D.C. As a native of the Northeast, I longed to be closer to the hills and mountains of this area and the maple trees of which I am so fond. I recently had my first child and am learning to balance work and family life.

Over the past few years, I have been working on managing my own chronic pain so that I can live a full and active life. The techniques I find helpful are some of the treatments I use with my clients.

I believe my life view and insights have been greatly impacted by my experience as a Peace Corps volunteer, teaching English in Vietnam and Russia, and my previous work with victims of human trafficking. I believe these positions helped me appreciate people from many different life experiences and cultures and I bring that sensitivity to my counseling practice.

My Approach

My approach to therapy is holistic, drawing from a variety of evidence-based modalities to create a personalized experience that meets you where you are. My training has been in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness. I also integrate psychodynamic insight and somatic awareness to support clients’ connection between their mind and body.

I honor my clients’ stories and their resilience and strength for reaching out for help. I work with clients to build on their strengths, while developing new skills to navigate life’s challenges. Through collaborative and solution-focused treatment planning, we will create a path forward that aligns with your goals.

Whatever your challenges, concerns or difficulties may be, I am committed to providing a nonjudgmental space where you will be heard.
