About Me

I am a LCSW, licensed in Connecticut and Washington D.C. I provide counseling to adults virtually, in-person and through”walk and talk” therapy. I offer these options for the convenience of my clients and because I greatly enjoy hiking and encourage my clients to be active and connect with nature.

As a native of the Northeast, I’ve always been drawn to the region’s rolling hills, mountains, and beautiful maple trees of the region. I recently became a parent and am enjoying the journey of balancing family life with a meaningful and fulfilling career.

Over the past few years, I have been working on managing my own chronic pain so that I can live a full and active life. The techniques I find helpful are some of the treatments I use with my clients.

I believe my life view and insights have been greatly impacted by my experience as a Peace Corps volunteer, teaching English in Vietnam and Russia, and my previous work with victims of human trafficking. I believe these positions helped me appreciate people from many different life experiences and cultures and I bring that sensitivity to my counseling practice.

My Approach

My approach to therapy is holistic, drawing from a variety of evidence-based modalities to create a personalized experience that meets you where you are. I use Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Emotional Awareness and Expression Therapy (EAET) to help clients experiencing chronic pain, anxiety, and depression. For individuals with OCD, I utilize Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard treatment for OCD. I also integrate psychodynamic insight, mindfulness, and somatic awareness to help clients better understand the connection between their emotions, thoughts, and physical experiences.

I honor my clients’ stories and their resilience and strength for reaching out for help. I work with clients to build on their strengths, while developing new skills to navigate life’s challenges. Through collaborative and solution-focused treatment planning, we will create a path forward that aligns with your goals.

Whatever your challenges, concerns or difficulties may be, I am committed to providing a nonjudgmental space where you will be heard.
